Process Flow of Aluminum Profile Powder Coating Line
Loading: Place the aluminum profiles to be sprayed on the conveyor line through a special loading device, and the conveyor line will send the aluminum profiles to each processing step in sequence.
Degreasing: Treat the surface of the aluminum profiles with organic solvents, alkaline solutions or surfactants, etc., to remove oil stains, greases and other organic pollutants, so as to improve the adhesion of subsequent coatings. Common methods include immersion degreasing and spray degreasing.
Water Washing: After degreasing, the aluminum profiles need to be washed with water to remove the residual degreasing agents and impurities on the surface. Multi-stage countercurrent rinsing is usually adopted for water washing to save water and improve the cleaning effect.
Alkali Etching: Slightly corrode the surface of the aluminum profiles with an alkaline solution to remove the natural oxide film and other impurities, increase the surface roughness, and improve the adhesion of the coating. The alkali etching time and concentration need to be adjusted according to the material and surface condition of the aluminum profiles.
Water Washing: After alkali etching, the aluminum profiles are washed with water again to thoroughly remove the residual alkali solution on the surface, preventing the alkali solution from being carried into subsequent processes and affecting the treatment effect.
Neutralization: Immerse the aluminum profiles in an acidic solution to neutralize the residual alkali solution on the surface, make the surface of the aluminum profiles reach a neutral state, and at the same time remove the possible smut generated during the alkali etching process, further improving the surface quality.
Water Washing: After neutralization, conduct water washing to ensure that the surface of the aluminum profiles is clean and free of residual acid solution and impurities.
Chromating or Passivation: Through chromating or passivation treatment, a conversion film is formed on the surface of the aluminum profiles to improve the corrosion resistance of the aluminum profiles and the adhesion of the coating. Chromating treatment usually uses a solution containing chromate, and passivation treatment can use a chromium-free passivation agent.
Water Washing: After the treatment is completed, conduct water washing to remove the residual treatment solution on the surface.
Drying: Thoroughly remove the moisture on the surface of the aluminum profiles by means of hot air drying or natural drying, etc., to ensure that the surface is dry for the subsequent spraying process.
Electrostatic Spraying: Use electrostatic spraying equipment to evenly spray the powder coating on the surface of the aluminum profiles. During the spraying process, the spray gun will generate high-voltage static electricity, making the powder coating charged and thus adsorbed on the grounded surface of the aluminum profiles. By controlling the parameters of the spray gun and the spraying environment, a uniform and smooth coating can be obtained.
Curing: Send the aluminum profiles with the sprayed powder coating into a curing furnace for heating and curing. Under certain temperature and time conditions, the powder coating undergoes a cross-linking reaction to form a hard, wear-resistant and corrosion-resistant coating. The curing temperature and time are adjusted according to the type and characteristics of the powder coating.
Cooling: Take out the cured aluminum profiles from the curing furnace and cool them to room temperature by air cooling or natural cooling for subsequent inspection and packaging.
Inspection: Conduct appearance inspection, coating thickness detection, adhesion test, etc. on the sprayed aluminum profiles to ensure that the coating quality meets relevant standards and customer requirements. For unqualified products, rework or scrapping treatment is required.
Packaging: Package the qualified aluminum profiles, usually using plastic films, paper packaging, etc., to prevent damage during transportation and storage.
Unloading: Remove the packaged aluminum profiles from the production line and place them in the designated storage area, waiting for delivery.
